FRAIMES

As film directors, we've always been masters of our own little universes - so why settle for the drab constraints of reality when Al hands us the tools to create the unseen? Bending time, form, and physics to our will, remixing inspiration at quantum speed. We should embrace Al as a co-conspirator in the making of the impossible.

Let's not use it to create soulless imitations of what's already been shot a thousand times - let's push it to hallucinate worlds, dream in impossible hues. Filmmaking has never been about reality - it's always been about perception, emotion, and illusion. Al is just the latest, most deliciously unhinged additionial tool to help us break those boundaries.

However, for me, filmmaking has never been just about the final image on the screen - it's about the process, the human energy, the friction, the spontaneity that happens on set. Al might be a fascinating tool, but it doesn't look you in the eyes when the scene finally clicks, it doesn't laugh at the absurdity of a 4 a.m. shoot, and it certainly doesn't have the messy, unpredictable magic of a real actor breathing life into a role. Film is a conversation, a symphony of minds colliding, ideas sparking, emotions bouncing back and forth.

The most enriching moments in filmmaking happen when someone surprises you - when an actor brings a nuance you never imagined, when a cinematographer catches a light shift you didn't plan, when an editor cuts against the rhythm but somehow makes it better. Al can optimize, simulate, and suggest - but it doesn't *feel* And in the end, that's what filmmaking is: a deeply human art form, born out of collaboration, imperfection, and the electric charge of real people making something together.

DUSTER

When shaping a story like DUSTER, AI becomes more than just a tool—it’s a creative sparring partner, a brainstorm generator that challenges us to refine our vision. Whether through AI-generated concept art that helps visualize the sentient dustball protagonist or language models that offer unexpected narrative twists, it forces us to explore angles we might not have considered. It’s not about replacing human intuition but about stretching it, accelerating iteration, and breaking through creative roadblocks.

CEREAL KILLERS

Creativity isn’t a state of mind; it’s a muscle—and like any muscle, it needs training. Artists have their sketchbooks, musicians their finger exercises, etc. etc. In the world of AI, a new discipline has emerged: Prompt Juggling— the art of keeping various creative balls in the air.

A good prompt isn’t just an instruction; it’s a catalyst. Those who think AI merely spits out answers like a mechanical oracle are missing the point. The real magic happens when you learn to craft prompts that push the machine beyond the obvious, forcing it to dream, remix, and surprise. It’s like jamming with an alien collaborator—one that doesn’t have intuition but can generate endless variations if you know how to nudge it in the right direction.

To me, creative warm-ups with AI can be as simple as describing impossible scenes, generating story fragments with unexpected twists, or even breaking language rules to see what emerges. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s friction, unexpected angles, and happy accidents. Because whether it’s with human hands or digital algorithms, creativity thrives in the space between structure and chaos.
